My sister and I were lucky enough to have a great horse show mom. A city girl, she learned how to back the horse trailer, clip horse whiskers, lead nervous horses, and make the perfect horse show bun, among many other things. In fact, by the end she was a pretty good coach, an expert used tack purchaser, and horse show photographer! Now that I am older, I realize just how much work and sacrifice it is for the horse show moms. If you are or were a HSM, please participate in my poll to let me know what the hardest part was. And, please feel to send your comments, too! bauer.dana@gmail.com

I am 46 years old and my Mom is still a horse show Mom! She had a successful show career herself and has been my instructor, coach, and groom since I began showing at 5 years old. It is fun to spend weekends at shows with her making new friends and connecting with old ones.
